Roslyn Michelle Stewart was born February 25, 1952 in Houston, TX to father Arthur Sullivan of Colfax, LA and mother Martha Faye Sullivan of Alexandria, LA.
Roslyn was raised in the historic Third Ward neighborhood of Houston where she attended Blackshear Elementary, Ryan Middle School and the illustrious Jack Yates Senior High School. Upon graduation she attended Business College to obtain her degree.
Roslyn was a God-fearing Christian and gave her life to Christ at a young age. She attended and was baptized at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Reverend E. L. Bible.
On, October 13, 1979, she married her loving husband Willie Edd Stewart of Dobbin, TX in her family home with relatives and loved ones in attendance.
Roslyn went on to obtain her insurance license in both properties and casualties, as well as, life and health. She gained employment with Fireman’s Fund, followed by, AIG (formerly American General). She was a well-respected insurance agent and advisor in her Third Ward Community.
Roslyn was preceded in death by her father Arthur Sullivan, her mother Martha Faye Sullivan, and brother Arthur James Sullivan, Jr. She is survived by her husband Willie Edd Stewart, daughters Monica Nichelle Coleman and Shaneé Danette Stewart, grandsons Torrian Jamal Price and Devin Jameer Price, great-grand daughter Torri Marie Price, sisters Gwendolyn Briggs (Johnnie Briggs-husband preceded in death) and Cheryl Thomas (Roger Thomas-husband) and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, loved ones and friends.
Her life, love, and dedication will forever live on in our memories.
