Kissey Harris

March 27, 1977 — February 13, 2022

Kissey Marie Jack-Harris was born on March 27, 1977 to Hazel and James Freeman in Mamou, Louisiana. Kissey passed from this life to eternal life on Sunday, February 13, 2022 in Houston, Texas. Kissey grew up and attended school at Mamou Elementary School and Mamou Upper Middle School. Kissey later moved to Houston, Texas and graduated from Madison Senior High School.

Kissey accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized; she was born again and ran the race with endurance until her last breath. In 1997, Kissey united with Joy Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Pastor Louis P. Jolivette, Sr. and Assistant Pastor Evangelist Matilda Jolivette. She participated in many children’s, teens, young adults, women's retreats, conferences, events and programs. Served as a proud member of the youth chair, youth ushers, and prayer warriors.

Kissey met and married Jarvis Harris on October 25, 2014. They were married for 7 years, full of love and laughter.

Kissey was a model citizen and devoted Christian in her community, she was loved and respected by many individuals that she came in contact with, no matter what their status in life. Kissey was well-mannered, always spoke her mind, high-spirited, and a very caring person in our present day turmoil. She was motivated to excel in her relationship with Christ and in ministry. Kissey was well liked by her friends and coworkers in customer service. She was previously employed with Robert Half Staffing and Recruiting as a customer service representative and an Administrative Assistant with Caring Angels Home Health Care in Houston, Texas for many years.

Kissey was preceded in death by her loving Father James Freeman, Grandmothers, Grandfathers, Aunts, Uncles, Sister, Step-Father Tyrone McFarlin, Sr., and Mother In Law. She is survived by her Husband Jarvis Harris, Mother Hazel McFarlin, four Brothers; Roger (Tawana) Jack, Micheal (Tonya) McFarlin, Ivan (Angela) McFarlin, and Tyrone McFarlin Jr. One God Daughter Jazz Jack; two God Sons; Ja’mar Harrison and Raylen Arrington. Significantly, a host of family: one great great uncle, three great aunts; one great uncle; nieces, nephews, brother in laws, sister in laws, cousins, classmates, co-workers, and friends.
