Donald Henry Hahn, affectionately known as "Don," was born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 7, 1946. He passed away on September 5, 2024, in Houston, Texas, leaving a legacy of dedication to his profession and a profound commitment to his community.
Don was a highly respected accountant for the Eyeglasses Company and the proud owner of Communication Unlimited Products for the Deaf and hard of hearing. A travel agency owner of the Deaf Globetrotters. His achievements in the accounting field were complemented by his strong academic background, which included a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland and a Master's degree in Business from the University of Southern California. A high school graduate of the Maryland School for the Deaf, he exemplified the value of education and hard work throughout his life.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Don was a cherished member of the Houston community, where he served as an officer and member of Houston Black Deaf Advocates and Houston Deaf Senior Citizen Love Fund. His commitment to helping others was evident in his personal and professional endeavors, allowing him to touch the lives of many.
In his leisure time, Don enjoyed watching TV shows, traveling, and assisting those in need. These hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to form lasting friendships with many.
Don is survived by his beloved wife, Fung Lin Hahn. He also leaves behind a host of friends and family who will carry on his spirit, including long-time friends Geoffrey Moore and Judy Becker and his cousin Bonnie Beube. He was predeceased by his father, Jacob Hahn, and his mother, Lucille Horton Hahn.
Visitation and a Celebration of Life will be held on September 14, 2024, at Willow Meadows Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Friends and family are invited to honor and remember Don during this time of reflection and remembrance, beginning with visitation at 12:00 PM and followed by the celebration at 1:00 PM.
Donald Henry Hahn will be remembered for his professional accomplishments and the warmth and kindness he extended to everyone around him. His legacy of service and dedication to family and friends will live on through those fortunate enough to know him.
